He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ruth Gale Carey and Roland Lester Purnell; his sons, Lester Purnell Jr (Tanisha) of Laurel, MD and Kendrick Purnell of Los Angeles, CA; his grandson Lester Purnell III; and his siblings, Selina Dickerson of Owings Mills, MD, Carol Hyman-Wilson (Lawrence) of West Virginia, Brenda Moore (Clifford) of Bowie, MD, Connie Harmon (Gerald) of Salisbury, MD, Oscar Purnell of Perry Hall, MD, Carlton Mills of Wilmington, DE, Lawrence Purnell (Dionne) of Salisbury, MD, Orlando Purnell and Roland Reginald Purnell. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
