He is survived by: his wife Darlene Summerfield (Markley) of Dayton Maryland; his sons, John and Mark Summerfield; his granddaughter Samantha Summerfield; and his siblings, Thelma Haupt and Junior Summerfield.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations may be sent to Gilchrist Hospice, 11311 McCormick Road, Suite 350 Hunt Valley, MD 21031 in memory of Mr. Summerfield.
