We are sad to announce that on September 10, 2021, at the age of 77, William George Matton III of Davidsonville, Maryland, born in Pensacola, Florida passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Captain William G. Matton, Jr. and Nevett Steele Matton. He is survived by: his wife Mary Lambert Matton; his sons, William Christopher Matton of Raleigh and Jeffrey Andrew Matton of Crownsville; his grandchildren, Ross, Scott, Andrew, Anna and Ella; and his brothers, Captain Michael Nevett Matton of Annapolis and Stephen Jeffrey Matton of Sebastian. He is also survived by his many friends, his sons, and grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the memory of Bill Matton may be made to the 'Naval Academy Athletic Association - Men's Golf Sustainment Fund' and mailed to NAAA, Men's Golf Sustainment Fund, Ricketts Hall, 566 Brownson Road, Annapolis, MD 21402 c/o Nancy McMahon.
