He was predeceased by: his former wife Joan; and his sister Hilyer Shufeldt. He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his former wife Janette; his daughter Sinclair Clunas; his husband Alex; his children, Daniel and Luisa; his stepchildren, Ian Ross and Alison Claybon; and his children, Lila and Wesley.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of the Chesapeake or to the Johnnies Scholarship Fund, St. John's College, Annapolis, will be appreciated.
