He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Maria Shields; his son Tim Shields; his granddaughter Amanda Shields; his stepdaughter Angela Cheatham; his niece Lisa Manley (David Manley); his great-nieces, Allison and Sara Manley; his nephew Mark Patterson (Karen Patterson); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Ryan, Charles, Grayson Patterson, Amanda and Jolan Patterson; his brother-in-law Charles Garland; his parents, George Stanley Shields Sr. and Beulah Phelps; and his sisters, Nancy Patterson and Jane Garland.
