With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alvin Lehnerd of Darlington, Maryland, born in East Liverpool, Ohio, who passed away on July 1, 2021. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Alvin Lehnerd to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin V. Lehnerd and Barbara C. Lehnerd; his wife Jean Ann Lehnerd; his sister Katherine Wilson (Kay); his daughter Rosemary Lehnerd; and his granddaughter Sarah Lehnerd Etkins.

He is survived by: his sisters, Barbara Amero, Margaret Micco and Mary Hamrock; his children, David Lehnerd, Paul Lehnerd, Susan Lehnerd, John Lehnerd and Kate Barton of Colorado; and his grandchildren, Joshua Mauldin, Phil Lehnerd, Ryan Etkins, Jay Etkins and Emily Etkins.

“I just learned of the passing of your father & my friend and mentor Al. I was hoping to visit him this Sept since it didn't work for him to see me in May when I was in the area. He was a very special person to me ever since he invited me to be a part of the Steelcase lighting group. He provided me much wise counsel & set the finest example on how to treat others with respect and mercy. I mourn with you, but thankful we will be reunited in heaven. With sympathy - Dale Potter”
