He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Bruce P., Mary E. Straw, John Rank and Margaret Rank; his parents, John D. and Anna H. Straw; and his brother John "Jack" D. Straw, Jr..

He is survived by: his grandparent Anna H. Straw; his wife Carol J. Straw (Crone); his children, Laura Rivers (Straw) and Ron Straw Jr.; his sister Jeaneen Logan (Straw); his grandchildren, Maryssa Piper (Straw), Lucas Piper, Matthew John Straw and Lacey Joelle Rivers; his great grandchild Christopher James Piper; and also Thomas Abate. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
