It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Elizabeth Smith (Cumberland, Maryland), who passed away on January 1, 2019, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Vernon Easter Portmess and Leah Grace Portmess Van (Weller); her former husbands, James T. Smith and William D. Smith; her siblings, Vernon, Carl, Philip, Robert, Virginia, Ruth, Covis, Rena and Sandra; her cousin Laura Kreger (Stevens); and her granddaughter Emmie Smith. She was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
