She was predeceased by: her parents, Norman V. Twigg and Flossie Twigg (Stallings); her husband Ronald Vincent Grabenstein; her brothers, Virgil and William "Billy" Twigg; her granddaughter Jennifer Jones; and her sons-in-law, Harold "Buck" Hyson and Vernon Schaidt.
She is survived by: her children, Anna Hyson of Springfield, WV, Anthony Grabenstein (Rose) of Maurertown, VA, Rhonda Schaidt (Ricky) of Cumberland, MD, Edward Grabenstein (Pamela) of Toms Brook, VA, Jeffrey Grabenstein of Cumberland, MD, Robert Grabenstein (Jenise) of Fort Ashby, WV, Carla Shafer (Bruce) of Oldtown, MD, Sherry Wiley (Paul) of Jacksonville, AR, Patricia Fields (Cecil) of Fort Ashby, WV, Ronald Grabenstein Jr. (Julie) of Cumberland, MD, Melissa Shook (Mike) of Fort Ashby, WV and Frederick Grabenstein (Karen) of Statesboro, GA; her grandchildren, Scott, Chris, Mandy, Veronica, Gabriel, Nathan, Jeremy, Michael, Caleb, Zach, Elijah, Alex, Kylie, Trevor, Megan, Josh, Jeffrey, Justin, Ryan, Tonya, Daniel, Cynthia, Brenna, Noah and Kaide; her great grandchildren, Bristol, Gracie, Kaylee, Kenzie, Willow, Ariana, Brayden, Shayla, Chelsea, Silas, Jace, Makenzie, Elliott, Anna Leigh, Abel, Hayden, Haisley, Harper, Brooklyn, Eian, Raelynn, Camden, Dawson, Sadie and Miller; and her sister Virginia Cessna.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Scarpelli Funeral Home (108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland, MD 21502). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St Mary's Catholic Church (300 E Oldtown Rd, Cumberland, MD 21502).
In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial donations be made to Our Lady of the Mountain, St. Mary's Parish at 300 E Oldtown Road, Cumberland MD 21502 or District 16 VFD at 12100 N Branch Road SE, Cumberland, MD 21502 in Betty's name.
