He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Richardson and Mary Lee Richardson; and his siblings, Betty Goolsby, Freddy Goolsby and Ray Richardson.

He is survived by: his children, Latresa Richardson, Karla Richardson, Tasha Wakefield, Lavar Abner and Tonya Abner; his brothers, Johnny Goolsby and Calvin Goolsby; his uncle George McColley; his former wife Maryleen Richardson; and his friend Alcelia Buck. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
