She was predeceased by: her parents, Rose Ross and Clifton Ross; and her former husband Gene Hammel. She is survived by: her children, Susan Hammel (Smith) of Chevy Chase, DC and Paul Hammel; her daughter-in-law Kerry Hammel of Arnold, MD; her grandchildren, Tyler, Logan, Jadyn Smith and Parker Hammel; and her daughter Carolyn.
