He was predeceased by: his parents, Captain John and Edith Mayne of Mt. Vernon, MD; his siblings, Elmer Mayne, Elma (Chatham) and Audrey English; and his grandson Robert Quentin Mayne.

He is survived by: his wife June; his children, Robert L. Mayne Jr. (Deanna), Sheila Mayne Edwards and John M. Mayne (Mary); his grandchildren, Stephanie Sharpe (Adam), Justin Edwards and Lehya Bailey (Todd); his great grandchildren, River, Parker Edwards, Marley and Owen Bailey; his stepgrandchildren, Jonathan Brumley and Angela Keyser; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Hailie Brumley, Mason Keyser, Sky Sharpe and Dradin Brumley.
