She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Walton Thomas, Sr. and Ida "Marie" Christy Thomas; and her siblings, Robert Walton Thomas, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Thomas. She is survived by: her son Donald P. Matthews, Jr. (Betsy) of Westover; her grandchildren, Sarah Marie Matthews and Donald Paul Matthews, III; her great grandchild Douglas Ashby, III; and her sisters, Lillian Thomas Adams (David), Jeannie Rae Pruitt (William "Bit"), Sharon Thomas Gaines (Joseph), Barbara Thomas Dougherty (Mark) and Margaret Thomas Mullennax (Regine, Jr.). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
