She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Somers and Mary Dize Somers; her husband James L. "Bones" Abbott; her son James M. Abbott; and her brother William "Billy" Somers.
She is survived by: her daughter Rita L. Parkinson (J. P.); her sister Mary "Mitzi" Wheatley; her grandchildren, Darin Parkinson (Jessica), Daniel Parkinson, Joshua Parkinson, Jordan "Bubba" Parkinson, Ashley Abbott, Vicki Abbott, James Abbott, Shannon Abbott and Allison Abbott; and her great grandchild Sophia. She is also survived by several other great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
