He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard W. Ward and Fannie Landon Ward; his sister Helen F. Saltz; his parents-in-law, Grover and Ruth Ward; and his pet Bruno.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen F. Ward of Crisfield; his son Howard William "Billy" Ward, Jr. of Crisfield; his sister Neva Rae Howard of Marion; and his grandchildren, Howard William "Billy" Ward, III of Crisfield and Brystal Autumn Ward of Pocomoke. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
