He was predeceased by: his daughter Linda Joyce Abbott; and his siblings, Roy Abbott, Bill Abbott, George Abbott, John Barr and Elsie Crawford.
He is survived by: his wife Jessie Mae Rich Abbott; his sons, Kenneth James Abbott of Smyrna, DE and Richard Raymond Abbott, Sr.; his wife Linda Abbott of Crisfield; his grandchildren, Crystal Abbott, Ashleigh Abbott, Rick Abbott, Jr. and Jennifer Sterling (Darrell); his great grandchildren, Taylor, Caleb, Emilee, Kaiden and Damon; his sister-in-law Joyce Blades of Baltimore; and also David William Ellis Abbott of Crisfield. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
