She was predeceased by: her parents, Marcus E Ward and Fannie J Price (Davis); her husband George Johnson; her daughter Crystal Starr Lockley; her siblings, Erton Price, Sr., Samuel R Fisher, Sr., Jean Virgie Fletcher, Phyllis Green, Lonia Yvonne McKissic and Iris Moore; and her great grandchildren, Jaden Isaiah Smith and Christa Purnell-Fisher.
She is survived by: her children, Emmett Nixon (Rikk) and April Purnell (Thomas) of New Castle; and her grandchildren, Chandrea Grimes (Candi) of Newark, Mandel Taylor (Poochie) of Maryland, Jermaine Lockley (Terry) of Maryland, Tamara Stewart (Tami) of Bear, Ambia Nixon (Am) of Capitol Heights, Taj Shepherd (Keisha) of Maryland, Tasha Oliver (Kevin) of Newark, Brianni Nixon (Binky) of Maryland, Terica (Teri) and Jones (Devan) of Bear, Delaware. She is also survived by twenty-eight great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Metropolitan United Methodist Church (407 Gay St, Denton, MD 21629). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
