She is survived by: her children, Joseph Handy, Corneilus "Mack" Merrill, Jr., Darryl "Tony" Merrill, Sr. and Michelle Handy; her siblings, Mary Corbin, Pearl Corbin, Emma Corbin, Dr. Gladys Johnson and George Corbin (Mary); and her godchildren, Ronnie Campbell, Markie Green and Jometta Johnson. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren.
