He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Norman and Cecelia Major (Franssen); his stepdaughter Michelle D. Thompson; his siblings, Norman Major and Velva Fisher; and his stepsister Vera Darlene Halberg.
He is survived by: his wife June A. Major (Love); his son Marc Friedlander; and his stepchildren, Mark Thompson, Robert Thompson, Jr., Georgia Ann Thompson, James Edward Thompson and Jody Thompson.
