He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Alma Long Hancock and Joseph Morgan Hancock; his siblings, Mary Agnes Bailey, William B. Hancock and Reggie Hancock; and his grandchildren, Heather Hancock and Kerri Hancock.
He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Burch Hancock; his children, Mary K. Peterson (Billy) of Piney Point, MD, Joseph F. "Ricky" Hancock, Jr. (Cindy) of Loveville, MD, Susan P. Hall (Glenn) of Chaptico, MD, Paula E. Kidwell (Charlie) of Hughesville, MD, Julie M. Guy of Loveville, MD and John M. "Jack" Hancock of Callaway, MD; his brother Charles J. Hancock of Mt. Airy, MD.; his grandchildren, William B. "BJ" Peterson IV, Christina Finegan, Kelly Trossbach, Jessie Hall, Alex McLean, Christopher Hall, Rose Hancock and Jason Guy; and his great grandchildren, Emma Peterson, Madison Trossbach, Elizabeth Finegan, Cheyenne Trossbach, Jack Finegan, Henry Finegan, Liam Peterson and Ryleigh Trossbach.
