It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Betty Cowan (Columbia, Maryland), who passed away on February 2, 2025, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Shirley Betty may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Shirley Betty touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her husband Arthur Cowan; her brothers, Jerome Frankle and Lawrence Frankle (Judith); and her parents, Leon Frankle and Esther Frankle.
She is survived by: her children, Nelson Cowan (Jean Ispa), Mitchell Cowan, Elliott Cowan (Karina) and Barbara Cowan; and her sister-in-law Reva Frankle. She is also survived by grandchildren and by a dear great-grandchild.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 at 12:30 PM at 1840 University Blvd W, Wheaton, MD 20902.
