He was predeceased by: his wife Diane Heath. He is survived by: his mother Nelly Mercado; his children, Sebastian Maldonado Sturich (Eliana), Tania Maldonado Sturich and Nicolas Maldonado Sturich (Andrea); his grandchildren, Camilla, Natalia, Leonardo, Constanza, Andres, Luciano and Catalina; and his siblings, Juan Carlos Maldonado (Janet), Joaquin Gerardo Maldonado, Dolly Miriam Peters (George), Maria Lourdes Konsowski (Steve) and Teresa Maldonado Zannier.
