Marilyn Thorner Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marilyn Thorner of Columbia, Maryland, who passed away on December 11, 2024 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let her loved ones carry forward the torch of her memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of her love and the brilliance of her spirit. Though Marilyn may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, her essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.

She was predeceased by: her husband Herbert G. Thorner; her close friend Maynard Robinson; and her parents, Louis Rothman and Faye Rothman. She is survived by: her children, Robert Thorner Lifson (Cynthia) and Arlene "Snow" Thorner; her brother Joel Rothman; and her grandchildren, Emily Thorner and Joshua Thorner.

A funeral service was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Arlington Chizuk Amuno Cemetery (4300 N Rogers Ave, Baltimore, MD 21215). A burial was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Merriweather Lakehouse Hotel (10209 Wincopin Cir, Columbia, MD 21044).
