He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander Robert Curtis and Jean Curtis (Timmons); and his granddaughter Charlotte Sophia Evans. He is survived by: his wife Carol Curtis (Baker); his sister Susan Warren (Curtis); his son Matthew Curtis (Eileen); his granddaughters, Heidi, Greta and Elsa; his daughter Caroline Evans (Richard); his grandchildren, Colton and Bodhi; and his pet Daisy.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sandy's name to the Shenandoah National Park Association of Luray, VA or The Howard County Conservancy of Woodstock, MD.
