He was predeceased by: his parents, William Sheppard and Lillian Rachel Armstrong (Abel); and his sisters, Doris Barrett, Gertrude Tipton and Anne Bilowus.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Beck; and his children, Henry "Hank" Armstrong, Jr. (Patty), Christine Long, Catherine Goodman, George Armstrong, Mary Ann Day and David Armstrong (Leslie). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church (4902 Berwyn Rd, College Park, MD 20740). A Mass was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery (13801 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20906).
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in his memory to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 4902 Berwyn Road, College Park, Maryland 20740.
