He is survived by: his wife Thelma; his children, Lee (Tammy), Richard, Theresa and Joyce (Tim Kohnle); his grandchildren, Robert, Jenna, Christopher, Timothy Lightner, Brenden and Melissa Cain; his great grandchild Lucy Lightner; and his brother Ralph (Karen). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.

“I am sorry I did not hear of Jim's passing and I was abut to send him some very old photo's that belonged to my Dad. HJ gave these to me a year ago and I finally went through them. One of them is Jim's photo from his Loyola graduation which I have never seen before. My condolences to the Lightner family and may he rest in peace.”
