She was predeceased by: her parents, William Edward Bayless Sr. and Louise Browne Bayless; her husband Jack Matthews; and her nephew William Edward Bayless III. She is survived by: her brothers, John Bayless (Mary) of Kings Mountain and Bill Bayless (Linda) of Hamlet, NC; her nieces, Tina Bayless, Pam Bayless, Susan Riddle (Cecil), Wendy Herbster (Chris) and Jennie Bayless; her nephew Dale Bayless (Elaine); and her stepdaughter Laura Sussan of Connecticut. She is also survived by three step-grandchildren; ten great-nieces and nephews; six great-great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel (216 Archie Whitesides Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 at 8:30 PM at the Greene Funeral Services - West Chapel (216 Archie Whitesides Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052).
