With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Laura Jean Barnes (Clinton, Maryland), born in Lancaster, South Carolina, who passed away on November 22, 2021 at the age of 95. She was predeceased by: her parents, John C. McMullen and Doshia Barnes McMullen; her sons, Darryl Lewis Barnes (Leatrice) and Donald Lee Barnes (Juanita); her brother John C. McMullen; her sister-in-law Mary McMullen; her sisters, Ethel Cecile McMullen Duren and Mary Eugenia McMullen McKim; and her brother-in-law James McKim.
She is survived by: her spouse Freddie Lee Barnes; and her children, Fred C. Barnes (Kimberly) of Temple Hills, MD, Linda Diane Stevenson of Washington, DC and Sheila Barnes Branch (Frank) of Lanham, MD. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
