He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph L. Yates and Nettie Tennyson Yates; and his siblings, Lewis Yates, Jake Yates, Evelyn Clark, Dale Yates and Brent Yates.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia A. Yates; his grandchildren, Dillon of Clements, MD., Alex of Clements, MD. and Kayla of Clements, MD.; and his sisters, Jeannette Foley, Linda Williams, Carol Alvey (Jackie), Georgia Nelson and Winnie Kopacko.
