Franklin William King Sr. Obituary

Franklin William "Roe Ho" King Sr., 76, of Clear Spring, MD, passed away Monday, September 2, 2019, at his home. Born August 27, 1943, in Clear Spring, MD, he was the son of the late Peter Paul Vincent King and Olca Mae (Tosten) King. Frank retired from JEM Co in 1995, where he was an explosive techinician. He was an active member of Hilltop Christian Fellowship in Clear Spring.

Frank was also a member of the Izaak Walton Club and the Wilson B. Rhodes Hunting Club. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved hunting, fishing, and mushroom hunting. He was an avid Washington Redskins and Nascar fan and enjoyed softball. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Barbara (Mericle) King; 4 daughters, Wanda K. King, Tonya M. King, Alicia A. King (William), and Penni M. Blake (Ben Sharpio); 2 sons, Franklin W. "Little Roe Ho" King Jr. (Nichole) and Roger L. Spencer Jr. (Cristie); 4 sisters, Vivian Smith, Janet Mellott, Margaret Chamberlin, and Gloria Hamilton; a brother, Paul King; 22 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; first wife, Rosie L. (Peck) King; second wife, Karren J. (Timmons) King; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by 3 daughters, Carol Ann King, Beverly Ann King, and Penny K. King; 2 sons, Donnie T. King and Charles A. King; sister, Olca M. Mellott; 2 brothers, Hiram King and Glen King and 4 infant brothers and sisters. A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 4 p.m. at Hilltop Christian Fellowship, 12624 Trinity Drive, Clear Spring, MD with Rev. Dennis Whitmore officiating.

Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
