He was predeceased by: his mother Jeanette Elizabeth Elwood; and his stepfather John Thomas Elwood (Jack). He is survived by: his wife Roberta Lee Shirk of Clear Spring; his children, Bryan K. Shirk, Robin L. Sword (Mike), Dawn L. Weaver (Curtis) and Julie D. Shirk; his grandchildren, Emily N. Lutz (Mike), Katelyn R. Sword, Brittany A. Weaver, Ryan M. Sword and Brett C. Weaver; his great grandchildren, Austin and Aubree Lutz; and his siblings, Ann Peterson (Ron), Bill Elwood (Teresa) and Debbie Elwood. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
