She was predeceased by: her parents, James Leonel Wharton and Mary Louise Ames Wharton; her husband David Lee Watson, Sr.; and her siblings, Elsie Ingram, Lionel Wharton and William "Billy" Wharton.

She is survived by: her children, Melanie Watson, Brian A. Watson and David L. Watson, Jr.; and her sisters, Eula Trent and Marian Ames. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
