She was predeceased by: her husband J. William "Bill" Nelson; her son Christopher Andrew Vedenlov Nelson; and her parents, Jack Engelbrecht and Magda Jacobsen (Larson). She is survived by: her sons, John William Nelson Jr. (Stephanie) and Peter Winfield Nelson (Sarah); her grandchildren, Jessica, Chris, Grace and Asher; her sister June (Doug); her nieces, Anne and Jane; and her nephew John.
