It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janet Nufer Umhau (Chevy Chase, Maryland), born in Goldsboro, North Carolina, who passed away on November 22, 2022, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Lester George Nufer and Ruby Elizabeth Fleet Nufer; her sons, Eagle Scouts, Dr. John Umhau (Tricia), Dr. William (Biff) and Dr. Andrew Umhau (Cary); her grandchildren, Lila Stiff (John), Carter Umhau, Bennett Umhau, Charlie Umhau, Blaire Umhau, Thomas Umhau, MaryBrooke Burval (Alex), Hannah Umhau, Sarah Wood Umhau and Lydia Fleete Umhau; her great grandchildren, Dorothy, Eleanor, Salome and Cassian Stiff; and her siblings, Dr. William Leonard Nufer of Danville and Virginia Beach.
