We are sad to announce that on September 8, 2024, at the age of 104, Virginia Strong Newlin (Chestertown, Maryland) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Virginia Strong departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Virginia Strong. Though Virginia Strong may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She is survived by: her children, J. Shipley Newlin, Jr., Peter Caverly Newlin, Claiborne Strong Newlin, Nina Newlin and Alf Newlin. She is also survived by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, interested parties may donate to the Animal Care Shelter for Kent County (Maryland) or the Brandywine Conservancy in Pennsylvania.
