Ronald Brown Obituary
Ronald "Ronnie" Brown of Chestertown, MD, passed away on December 4, 2022, at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. He was 69 years old.
Ronald was born in Chestertown on June 29, 1953, the son of the late Harry Lee and Virginia Rue Brown. At the age of 17, he joined the Navy and served with the USMC during the Vietnam War era before he was honorably discharged. He briefly lived in California before returning to Chestertown, where he held a variety of jobs. He worked for Dixon Valve, Ames, Buck's Pool Service, D.C.T., and for the majority of his career, with the Queen Anne's County Board of Education.
He was a family man who loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was especially proud of his grandson, who plays for the Detroit Lions (even though Ronald himself was a diehard Steelers fan). He enjoyed traveling and loved fishing, especially with his pastor.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald S. Brown; grandmother, Christine Sacarboro; sisters, Ileathea Brown, Dorethea Brown, and Lisa; one brother Darnell Brown; and granddaughter, Tighaira Sayles.
In addition to his fiancée, Juanita Demby, he is survived by his children, Shunard Brown (Nadine), Shadena Sudler, Jason Butler (Maryann), Chasitiy Cravens, TaShida Brown, Bianca Cravens Brown (Vincent), Katreena Smith, Brittany Brown (Dominic), Keyona LeCompte (LeMond), and Tekahya Lively (Dontrell); his siblings, Bryan Wright, Marquis Bibbons, Clifton Wright, Michelle Matthews (Donald), Daureen Anderson, Debronne Brown, Wanda Newell, and Flava Stovill; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his godchildren, Miracle, Ty'Nica Peyton, and Shawn.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 17, at 12:00 p.m., at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home in Chestertown. A viewing will be held two hours prior, from 10:00 am to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Hurlock MD Veteran's Cemetery at a later date.
