He was predeceased by: his parents, Emma May and Harry M. Bender; his wife Brenda Faye Bender; and his siblings, Donald, Henry Bender and Grace Bender.
He is survived by: his sons, Raymond Joseph Bender, Christopher Michael Bender and Shane Paul Bender (Kellie); and his grandchildren, Jessica, Justin, Lacee, Kayla, Dylan, Fallon and Chelsea. He is also survived by his seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Legion Post 228 at P.O. Box 207, Rock Hall, MD 21661.
