He is survived by: his wife Margaret M. Conlin; his children, Virginia Mandio, Linda Labinski (Rick), David Gauntt, Jr. (Elizabeth) and Matthew Gauntt (Heather); his grandchildren, Tara Dickel, Matthew Mandio, Dmitri Gauntt, Peter Gauntt and Ivan Gauntt; his great grandchildren, Gia and Cameron Dickel; his sisters, Patricia Guy and Susan Sorensen; his pets, Shorty and Sparkle; and his daughter-in-law Virginia Petersen.

I wrote to David many times giving him updates on many family members when I came across resources to back the information up with. My husband and I met David and his wife Margaret in Delaware at supper club and had dinner together one evening. I will miss the Christmas cards & a poem included in them. I've saved all my cards from him.”
