He is survived by: his parents, Pedro Melendez Garcia and Claribel Arreaga Alicea; his wife Carla Michell Alayon Gonzalez; his son Fernando Carlo Melendez Alayon; and his sisters, Glorybel Melendez Arreaga and Omayra Melendez Caraballo.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Pedro's name can be made to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
