He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Veretta Cummings and Henry Burdette; his wife Wanda Ray; his children, Anthony Staples, Walter Staples, Jr. (Sharie), Kerri Davis (Carlton), Keisha Staples and Kelli Staples; and his siblings, Ramona Bennett, Darlene Burdette, Dorothea Yvonne Dewberry and Ronald Burdette. He was also cherished by 18 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
