She was predeceased by: her parents, Fannie L. Holt and Darth Holt, Sr.; her children, Myron L. Scott and Vonda Hebron (Preston); her son-in-law Jeffrey Fortune; her siblings, Darth Holt, Jr., Arlene Mundell (Raymond) and Doris Gray (Milton); and her brother-in-law Wiley Barnes.

She is survived by: her husband Oliver Fortune; her children, Jeffery Scott, Richard Scott, Jr., Ira Fortune (Emily), Jeffrey Fortune, Oliver Fortune, Jr., Yolanda Giles (Eddie) and Clochette Calhoun (Gerald); her sister Gloria Barnes; her grandchildren, Keisha Scott-Sorden, Jaynelle Ewell, Christopher Taylor, Victoria Fortune, Rashad Giles, Brendan Fortune, James Fortune, Nicole Rittenour (Jeff), Chanel Cabiness (Anthony), Chandra Calhoun and Camron Milton; and her great grandchildren, Yemi Bryant, Naomi Taylor, Brendan Fortune and Jaylin Cabiness. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church (41 Ark Rd, Lothian, MD 20711). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery (11301 Robert S. Crain Hwy, Cheltenham, MD 20623).
