She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Edward Lee Arrington and Hattie Margaret Lucas Arrington; her husband Joe Louis Simms; her daughters, Wanda Simms Page (Craig) and Kimberly Denise Simms; her siblings, Geraldine A. Wiggins of Upper Marlboro, MD, Brenda A. Dawson (Sam), Melisa A. Pitt (Anthony) and Roy Arrington of Cheltenham, MD; her grandchildren, Rachel C. Banks of Baltimore, MD, Kelly D. Page of Durham and William D. Page of Durham; and her sister-in-law Ellen S. George of Hampton, VA.
