Paul Edward Jones Jr Obituary
On December 4, 2023, Eddie won every battle of this earthly life as he entered heaven. Eddie was born December 18th, 1964 in Harrogate, England, the first child of Paul Edward Jones Sr. and Eva Rosalie Jones. He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a nephew, a cousin, a husband, a bonus dad, a godfather, a Pop-Pop, and everyone’s best friend. His loss is immeasurable and undeniably felt every single day. While his absence is great, the impact he made on the lives he touched in his 58 years is so much greater. There is joy in knowing the legacy he has left this world will live on forever and that he is with Jesus with no more suffering.
Eddie was a man of many talents; home improvement and commercial sewing machine repair were his career choices. He loved fishing, kayaking, camping, and spending time with his family. He celebrated 17 years of sobriety which is something that he invested his heart into. Eddie started his work as the coffee maker in PG County, which is “the most important job at a meeting”. Eddie attended, formed, facilitated, sponsored and spoke at NA and AA meetings and conferences in Prince George’s, Charles, Calvert and St. Mary’s Counties. The amount of people that he sponsored, mentored and touched is unknown, it is our hope that Eddie is thought of, and his knowledge will live on in the meetings, even if it makes your eyes leak. Eddie truly loved and wanted the best for everyone, no matter your walk in life.
Left to cherish precious memories are Eddie’s wife Debbie, his sister and brother-in-law Julie & Rick, niece Jessica (Joey), nephews Ricky (Page), & Charlie (Hannah), great nieces Riley, Lilly, Payton, Renleigh and great nephew Rowan, his bonus children Gerald (Heather), Jennifer (Frank), Jason (Amanda) and Nicole (Perry) and his grandchildren William, Mason, Draedyn, Samantha and Oliver. Eddie is dearly missed by his aunts, uncles and cousins and countless best friends.
A celebration of life will be held September 7th, 2024, at Gilbert Run Park in La Plata, Maryland at the Playground Pavilion starting at 1pm. This is a casual event, come as you are, everyone is welcome. Please inform the person at the gate that you are attending Eddie’s Celebration.
In lieu of flowers please consider donating to your local NA or AA meeting or recovery program of your choice, meetings are free, but coffee is expensive.
Also, we realize that this obituary and celebration is 9 months after his death, Eddie was a master procrastinator, so it only made sense to be late.
