He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Meg" Kaplan (Gahan); his brothers, William Leon Kaplan of Israel and Joel David Kaplan of Virginia; and his stepchildren, Peggy Batts, Laura Behen, Karen Horton and Michael Behen. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
