She was predeceased by: her parent Mack Montgomery Handy; her husband Coy Handy; her sons, Bentford C. Handy and Jessy D. Handy; and her grandchildren, LeEllen C. Battaglia and William Francis Graham, Jr..

She is survived by: her parent Ona Gambill Handy; and her children, Margie Hughes of Eltopia, WA, Helen Handy of Raleigh, NC, Brenda Sue Darnell (Ronnie), Susie Handy Walker, Linda Shirley Handy of Laurel, DE, Marie Ward (Charles), Georgia Schneider and Michael Handy (Karen) of Elkton, MD..
