He was predeceased by: his parents, James Layton Gilley, Sr. and Mary Helen Wardell Gilley; and his brother Michael D. Gilley. He is survived by: his wife Pauline A. Stromberg Gilley; his children, John Christopher Gilley (Dana Lynn Gilley) and Kimberly Anne Gilley; and his siblings, James Layton Gilley, Jr., Edward Joseph Gilley, Mary Claire Knight and Theresa Smith. He is also survived by five grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home (1493 Clayton St, Perryville, MD 21903). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mark Catholic Church (30 Melvin Ave, Catonsville, MD 21228).
