He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Thomas J. Mumford, Jr. and Grace Parker Mumford; his wife Betty Jean; his children, Michelle Lewis (Jamie), Michael Mumford (Susie) and Meredith Lewis (Jeff); his grandchildren, J. T. Lewis (Virginia), Natalie Mumford, Jared Lewis, Jacob Mumford, Samantha Lewis and Joshua Lewis; and his siblings, Linda Kent and T. J. Mumford (Fran).
