It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard John Griffith Sr. of Catonsville, Maryland, who passed away on August 18, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John James Griffith and Minnie Elizabeth Griffith (Heim); his siblings, Donald Griffith, Margaret McLaughlin (Griffith) and Eileen Gray (Griffith); and his former wife Nancy Lee Griffith (McClung).

He is survived by: his sister Patricia Griffith; his children, Richard J. Griffith Jr. (Mary Ellyn), Connie Lee Zablocki (Chris) and Susan Elizabeth Sunday (Doug); his grandchildren, Richard, Ryan, Rachel, Carlos, Christina, Jenna, Jaime and Samantha; and his close friend Roberta Lavin.

In lieu of flowers the family encourages donations be made in Richard's name to Big Brothers Big Sisters (https://www.bbbs.org) or the YMCA.
