He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard S. Karpers, Sr. and Frances LaPlanche Karpers; his brother-in-law Dr. J. R. Swancar; and his son-in-law Robert "Bird" Brown. He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Uhlhorn Karpers; his daughters, Anne Brown of Westminster, MD and Susan Slade (David) of Catonsville, MD.; his grandsons, Michael, Ryan, Matthew Brown, William and Austin Slade; and his siblings, Dr. Bernard Karpers, Jr. (Kathleen), Paul Karpers, Sr. (Ruth), Mary Karpers Burke and Betsey Karpers Swancar. He is also survived by loving extended family and dear friends.
