It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Gloria Rae Serio of Catonsville, Maryland, who passed away at the age of 89, on February 13, 2025. Though Gloria Rae may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Gloria Rae touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her husband Charles R. Serio; her son Samuel Sam'Serio; and her parents, Edward Grott and Veronica Grott. She is survived by: her daughters, Jennie Hrivnak, Veronica Serio and Maria Scarcella (John). She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Monastery (3801 Old Frederick Rd, Baltimore, MD 21229). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
